E-Formel.de is an online portal for electric motorsport. Here, motorsport enthusiasts can find everything about dates, race results, cars, teams and drivers as well as various statistics. With general interest in this still young form of motorsport increasing, the number of visitors to E-Formel.de is also growing steadily. E-Formel.de is one of the first international sources of information for electric motorsport fans.

Our customer already had an online portal for Formula E when he approached us. However, the existing portal was technically outdated and no longer really up to date. In close cooperation, we can proudly say that we have taken E-Formel.de to a whole new level.

The aim was to develop a completely new system for the portal and to give E-Formel.de a new, fresh "look".
It was important to transfer all existing content and data to the new system.

A Contao-based system was created, which operates on the backend with PHP and Symfony.
We have also developed some of our own extensions for Contao to make data maintenance as pleasant as possible for our customers.
Even in the planning phase, there were one or two "tough" nuts to crack and we were constantly faced with new challenges. We needed sensible data models, for example to keep races, teams and drivers up to date for each new season, but also to always have the data from previous seasons available. The system must also make it possible to import race results within a very short time (with millisecond accuracy) and give the user the opportunity to find out about current events directly.
